USYC Introduces ‘Prashasan Pro’ Digital Governance Platform to Enhance Public Service Accessibility

Kathmandu, Nepal — The U.S. Embassy Youth Council (USYC) 2025 has officially launched Prashasan Pro, an innovative digital governance platform designed to streamline citizen access to public administrative services through a centralized and technology-driven interface.

The web-based application was unveiled during a formal event in Kathmandu as part of the U.S. Embassy’s Digital Diplomacy, Artificial Intelligence, and Innovation Initiative. Developed in collaboration with Youth Innovation Lab, the platform aims to bridge the information gap between citizens and government agencies while promoting transparency, efficiency, and digital inclusion.

Prashasan Pro serves as a comprehensive information management system that provides detailed procedural guidance for essential public services, including citizenship certification, national identity card issuance, and passport applications. Users can access standardized information regarding eligibility requirements, supporting documentation, processing timelines, and designated service centers.

The platform has been architected to operate efficiently under low-bandwidth network conditions, ensuring broader accessibility across diverse geographic and connectivity environments. Additionally, it incorporates multilingual conversational interfaces, enabling users to submit administrative queries through both text and voice interactions in Nepali and English.

According to USYC, the platform’s service portfolio will be expanded in subsequent development phases to include PAN registration, vehicle registration, voter identification services, and police clearance certificate processing information.

During its initial deployment phase, Prashasan Pro focuses on administrative service data from Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. Future releases will progressively extend coverage to all seven provinces, establishing a nationwide digital public service information ecosystem.

USYC has further announced that a dedicated mobile application is currently under development and is expected to be released by the end of June, enhancing accessibility and user engagement across mobile platforms.
